"It keeps moving along so I keep coming along, and that's why I'm a long distance runner..."    -Fugazi

I had such a God moment during the last mile of the marathon.  As soon as I passed the mile marker 25 with my time below it, the most amazing and appropriate song in this world came on my ipod.  It was so completely revolutionary and inspiring, I think I was one of the only people smiling during this last draining mile.  It was Frank Sinatra's "My Way".  I'm not even kidding--if you've never heard this amazing song, you'd better hear it asap and really listen to the words.  This song will motivate even the most negative of people.

I bought a really corny t shirt downtown after the marathon that said, "MARATHON:  it takes the word 'can't' out of your vocabulary."  Perfect.  Miles 21-24 were really strange for me because we ran past OSU stadium, and turned right onto Neil and ran past all of these buildings I thought I wouldn't see for a long time.  And holy cow, the oval looks fabulous.  Ummm....QUESTION:  why, the year that I left osu, did High St suddenly evolve into quality stores and restaurants??!  We ran past a Panera, and I about died.  grrrr...

I basically spent the entire weekend with big brother Matt and little sister Ash, and it was perfect.  I'm so thankful that we're all great friends and constantly enjoy each other's company, and are simply there for each other.  We added a new member to our fam.  no comment.  And thank the Lord for Mr. Adam Schauer for being there for me at my house on Sat.  You're so good to me.

Hope the old OSU clan will have a funfunfun time this weekend.  I'm there in spirit.

"And once you go southern, may the good Lord help you, may you never go back."
           -Kenny Chesney

Still working on becoming a southern belle.  haha.  but seriously, i catch myself speaking southern lingo all the time.  love it.

hope school is going as well for everyone else as it is for me.  it is kinda weird that i haven't been home yet, considering i went home about every weekend last quarter at osu.  but when i do go home via grayhound--it's 2 weekends away--everything will be different.  it's a jam-packed weekend filled with wedding junk and the columbus marathon!  speaking of, i ran the longest i have ever run in my entire life a few days ago--20 miles.  nice.  the marathon should be fun.  my dad and stepmom are driving me down there to "watch" (um...boring...) and i'll see some great old osu people.

i'm really excited to see my family; i miss them terribly.  but my mom will be getting married that weekend.  it still hasn't really sunk in yet that he will be moving into my house and he'll ALWAYS be there.  but i really need to just get over it because i'm hardley there, my brother and sister don't live there, and he really loves my mom.  ew.

FYI:  i think i have the best job on campus.  i announce the volleyball and soccer games, and soon coming: basketball games.  i can't believe i get paid to say things like "KILL!! by # 22 kaitlin....blahblahblah"  it's so much fun--i'm paid minimum wage to attend all of the home events, list off the roster and choose what music is played during pregame, timeouts, etc.  gooooo eagles!

so a bunch of us girls watched A Beautiful Mind last night--one of my favorites, and my next conquest is to read all the novels that won a Nobel Prize.  i mean, they HAVE to be fabulous pieces of literature if they won the Nobel Prize.  up first is "The Piano Teacher."  hmm...

God bless, y'all.

"After a while, you just want to be with the one who makes you laugh."     -Big-

although i'm not the biggest fan of Big (pun intended), this quote is very inspiring.  it really is the honest truth, at least for me.  of all the sex and the city characters, AIDEN is by far my favorite.  what a cutie cute :)

on a sad note, i'm sure i've told most of you that my roommate Amanda lost her home, some family members, and friends in long beach, mississippi from the hurricane.  i feel really really terrible, and wish there was something i could do to help.  she's been asking me to read, pray about, and discuss a lot of Scripture with her, which does make her feel better, but it still makes me sad--especially that they're broadcasting pictures and stats about the hurricane on practically every station, and she has to keep seeing her town on tv that is completely destroyed.  i'm strongly considering missing a few days of classes next week to drive down to mississippi with her to help with some clean-up.  that is, if they're letting people back in.

other than that, school is great.  a lot harder than osu.  maybe it's the attendance thing...ha.  but my profs are super intellegent, and i think it's neat that all of them pray either before or after class.  the horse barn is perfect, worship is amazing, cross country is tough, yet fun (if that makes sense), driving up to lexington almost everyday with awesome people is perfect--the school is all around a great match for me.  yay asbury.

i read a quote somewhere that "some relationships aren't meant to last a lifetime".  and i really don't like it.  i can't fathom that people i deeply care about wont be in my life forever.  it just seems silly.  i dont know what's harder--that this quote might actually be true, or in reality, some people you love don't love you back, but are too nice to say so.  ouch.  why can't people say what they mean and mean what they say?  maybe it's meant to be--that someone has a reason for it, but it still hurts anyway.

Destination: Beautiful

"Please consider all things tright; forgiveness will be the thing that gets us by."   -mae-

our vacation in maine was God-sent; probably one of the best vacations i've ever had.  we boated in some form every day for 15 days; whether is was sailing, motor boating, rowing, or kayaking.  sooo much fun.  we're so blessed to have that cottage; it's amazingly beautiful there, and i really find peace when i'm there.  the best part was that i was able to go to bed at 11pm and wake up at 8am--with a little nap on most days as well.  i think i'm completely caught up from this summer.  ahhhh....stupid newspapers.  i'll try to figure out webshots soon so you can check out some pics--i invested in a digital camera before we left!  awesome awesome awesome pictures.

i moved into asbury on thursday, and so far i love it so so so much more than ohio state, it's not even funny to compare the 2 schools.  there's just a different attitude here--no one's trying to find a party, everyone's a christian and the people i've met so far are really down to earth and honest and kind.  everyone's looking out for others, completely kind, and smiling.  priorities are straight around here, and i'm lovvvvvving every second of it.  i actually went to a prof's house for dinner last night with a few of the other pre-meders.  unheard of in the big schools.  i walked onto the cross country team, and it's great so far.  really awesome people.  and my roommate is super nice.  she looks exactly like shavonda from last year's real world except with a really thick mississippi accent.  cool girl, that amanda.

listen to "skyline drive" on mae's destination: beautiful cd.  it's one of my new favorites :)  ooo and "sun" on that cd--there's a piano solo at the end that gives me chill bumps.  mae completely reminds me of the best times at ohio state with my favorite people.  i can't express how much i miss you all ;(  love you.
